Our Story

Co-Owners Louis Whitlow and Darwin Salaam II both have unique journeys in sports, coaching and business. Their respective backgrounds have driven them to be in the position they are in today as business owners. The necessary tools required for minority business ownership and youth athletic development coaching Whitlow and Salaam encompass and use to their community’s advantage.

Whitlow whose higher education and athletic experience led him to graduate from Alabama A&M after excelling at Huffman HS in Birmingham. Now an established Baseball Coach & Skills Trainer and Internationally Established Human Resources Consultant Coach Whitlow’s expertise stretches almost 15 years! Coach Whitlow aka Coach Lou is the Alabama A&M University Baseball Pitching Coach, a travel baseball Coach for SBC Sox and his training program is the arm of SQUAD INC Training that provides solutions for baseball and softball athletes.

Salaam graduated from Sparkman HS and then furthered his higher education at Stillman College then to University of Alabama. Salaam’s football career stretched eight years after college and aided in building the global network in which SQUAD INC Training’s predecessor HITS SQUAD benefitted from. Coach Salaam aka Coach D is the Sports Performance Coach of SQUAD INC Training and specializes in group and team training SQUAD CAMPS which is 1hr training model Salaam has used since 2014 through the United States (Alabama, Florida, California, New Jersey) and Internationally (Sweden, Japan).

Coach Whitlow and Coach Salaam utilize their passion for youth development, personal experiences, love for the grind and desire to impact others to fuel their partnership. Since 2018 Whitlow and Salaam have been working to build SQUAD INC Training to a household name whose impact will be best seen through youth athletic development. Both coaches are seamlessly focused on ensuring every person who receives their coaching is not only better on the field but even better off the field.
